Walk Tacoma is back this spring! Join us for monthly, in-person walks that invite you to explore Tacoma and learn more about the places and stories that shape our city.
Free 1-2 mile walks led by local experts highlighting Tacoma's culture and history.

Join us for the 2026 Walk Tacoma Kick-Off on Wednesday, April 15, starting at Irving Park. Explore the vital role that park improvements, accessible green spaces, transit equity, and sustainable development play in strengthening community connections and supporting a more walkable Tacoma. This walk will be led by a Parks Tacoma representative along with neighborhood residents and community advocates, giving participants a firsthand perspective on how these investments help build stronger, more connected communities.

May 13 | Women's Impact on Tacoma: Past, Present, Future
TOTG invites community members to hit the pavement for a guided exploration of the stories, voices, and contributions that have shaped Tacoma across generations. This community walk brings the city’s evolving identity to life through personal perspectives, focusing on the people and movements that define our neighborhoods.
A central highlight of the walk features special guest Ramona Bennett—Puyallup Tribal Elder, author, and longtime advocate. She will share select accounts from her memoir, Fighting for the Puyallup Tribe, offering participants a powerful opportunity to reflect on Indigenous leadership, resilience, and the deep, ongoing impact of local advocacy.

JUNE 17 - Food, Culture, and Community in the Lincoln District
June 17 | Food & Culture Walk – Lincoln District
Experience one of Tacoma’s most vibrant and flavorful neighborhoods on a guided walk through the Lincoln District. This evening walk will celebrate the area’s rich cultural identity, locally owned businesses, and community pride through stories, food, and neighborhood connections. Participants can expect highlights of the district’s history, growing energy, and the people who make Lincoln such a unique destination.

JULY 8 - Tacoma Youth Symphony & Friends Tour

Join us for a special downtown Tacoma walk in partnership with the Tacoma Youth Symphony Association & Friends. This unique event blends movement, music, and community as we explore the city alongside youth arts leaders and supporters. With performances, creative stops, and stories about the role of arts in civic life, this walk celebrates the next generation of Tacoma talent.

Close out the Walk Tacoma season with an exploration of McKinley Hill, one of Tacoma’s most distinct and evolving neighborhoods. This walk will highlight local businesses, community character, neighborhood history, and the ongoing energy shaping McKinley’s future. We’ll wrap up the evening with a neighborhood social featuring food and drinks, and a chance to connect, reflect, and celebrate the community together. Join us for a summer evening of discovery, connection, and a closer look at a neighborhood with deep roots and growing momentum.
